Genius Hour

A fantastic end to Term culminated in Genius Hour and China projects. The children had been working independently for 5-6 weeks on various tasks and got to present and explain their findings.

Genius hour is a movement within many schools throughout the world that allows students to explore their own passions and encourages creativity in the classroom. It provides students a choice in what they learn during 1 hour a week for 5-6 weeks.

There were many discovery projects, learning about Egyptians, the worlds deadly diseases, and even World War 1. Many children developed skills in coding, using different materials for art, sewing, cooking and designing. Some members of Room 6 tried to educate others about healthy living, road safety and game play.

Some awesome projects for Term 1 taught the importance of planning, perseverance and learning from your experiences.
